Saturday Surprise

August 8, 2009

A few weeks back I started what I call “Saturday Surprise” blogs. Basically right now, it is a look at the past; finding a picture from awhile back and blogging about it. You can click the tag line “Saturday Surprise” to see all the blogs under this category I have posted, if you are interested.

What picture did I conjure up today? I found one that made me smile, so it is the winner! I have lots of cousins. Eight cousins and most are married, some have children now too. This is the group of us who were together in November 2007. It was a sad occasion we all had to gather for (my grandpa’s funeral) but it was awesome seeing each other again. We are all spread across the country, so we don’t get to see much of each other. We have a grand time together when we do see each other though, and that is what counts. This picture was taken at the end of a very long day (funeral and reception for grandpa) so we all look pretty worn out, but it is a group picture, none the less!

So cousins….WHEN are we having our Cousin Reunion? Let’s get planning!

Hope the rest of you blog readers enjoyed getting a look at my extended family. I am truly blessed with amazing cousins. We may not talk all the time, but we know we are always there for each other and are only a phone call away. Thanks cousins of mine for being such amazing family. I love you all!

  1. Diane, I read your blog. Thanks for doing this. I wish I had more time to do this. I’ve been struggling with lyme disease for about a year now and I keep saying, “When I get better I’ll…..”. Hopefully God will give me the health someday to actually do the things I’d love to be doing. As for a reunion. I just don’t have enough light shined on my path right now to see when I would be able to do that. But hopefully someday. Tim-

    • Tim,
Thanks for commenting. I pray for you often and love you very much. I am going to write you an email now.

      Diane

  2. You’re so cute. 8 cousins isn’t that many. ;p Daddy Reg has 9 first cousins on his dad’s side alone. You should see all the second cousins. The first family reunion I went to was slightly overwhelming.
You guys should all get together. Reunions are great fun.

    • Well, eight cousins with spouses and kids seems like a lot to me when we are all around them, considering I grew up with none out here, since mom is an only child! I think I am going to have to get on the ball and get a reunion in gear. I probably have the most time on my hands right now out of all of us!

  3. Very cute pic. I really miss all of them too. i am glad everyone is doing well. I do hope that all of you can get together for a reunion. That would be fun for all of you.

    • Thanks mom!

  4. Your blog is REALLY NICE Diane. I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how things were going for you. The cousin picture is great, but remember there should be one more. Paul was missing because he was in Iraq at the time Grandpa passed away.

    Love, Aunt Teresa

    • Trust me…I know he was missing. All the more reason we need a cousin reunion! Thanks for leaving me a comment. Love you!
