Today’s Doctor’s Appointment – October 30, 2008

I went to see the pain specialist today. I feel really good about it. My good friend Molly went with me, so she made sure I told the doctor everything I needed to. This doctor seems to want to help me get better. He does not just want to stick me on more meds, but wants to treat the source. He is a little puzzled as to what exactly is causing the pain and what line of treatment we should try. So he is going to do some research this week and make sure he understands what I have had done, what diseases I have and what kind of treatment is going to work the best. I go back to see him on the 6th of November (One week from today) and we will work together to figure out how to get me back on my feet.

He was very positive. I told him I have just watched my hopes and dreams fade away and he told me not to think of that. He said I am young and have a whole life ahead of me and we would work to get my life back. He told me it is going to be okay. This is really the first positive outlook I have received from a doctor. Everyone else has always just wanted to stick me on medications and have given me a grim outlook, that this may just be my life. So I have a little bit of hope back tonight. A breath of fresh air. Thank you Jesus.

Please pray that this would be the break I need. Please pray for a miracle – that these next steps would finally bring healing. The doctor said we may be able to do some treatment, and I may still need some meds, but he does not want the answer just to be sticking me on meds the rest of my life. That is encouraging to me! Thanks again everyone who is sticking through this with me.

  1. YAY!!!! That is great news! Sounds similar to my OB/GYN. First doctor who said “I can help you!” Instead of just brushing me off.
    Love you!

  2. Woo-Hoo! Glad to hear the hope rise up in you again. It is good, isn’t it?
I am very happy this doctor gave you a positive outlook for your future, and I am praying that he will “get it” with what is up with you, and what to do about it, and “get it” quickly.
    Love, love, love!!!

  3. Thanks Shel. I am trying to keep up the positive attitude!

    Kaitlyn…thanks for caring for me!

    Love you both.

  4. Possibly a light at the end of the tunnel!

  5. I am so happy that this visit was a positive experience and that he gave you back some hope! I will pray that his research on your records will give him the insight he needs to make a plan of action that will get to the bottom of your pain. I hope he can really help you! Keep me/us posted! Love you!
